Male Breast Enlargement
Seeing a guy with well-developed breasts can be both baffling and amazing. But this spectacle can be very awkward for such guys or may be not for all of them in the 21st century. It definitely means different things to different people. For most young guys with this condition of male breast enlargement, which is referred to as gynaecomastia by medical practitioners, it can be very embarrassing especially in a school full of bullies and mischievous lads. I can remember quite clearly a colleague of mine named Ferdinand in the high school. He had very mature and feminine mammary glands and was the constant focus of dirty tantrums. Poor Ferdinand was always crying and detested schooling although he later outgrew the condition.

The first cause of male breast enlargement is usually attributed to the physiological functioning of our bodies. This is intimately related to the fluctuation of levels of hormones present in the human body. The most important hormone for sexual features and development in a male is called testosterone and it confers all the male features on men. In short, it is the origin of masculinity. The equivalent of this hormone in the female is called oestrogen and it is what makes females what they are. Whenever a male has increased levels of oestrogen or increased rate of conversion of testosterone to oestrogen, the male starts to develop feminine features such as abnormal breast enlargement.
Hormonal imbalance or fluctuation can be due to a number of causative factors or reasons. Top among these include the ingestion of hormone-based drugs, performance-enhancement drugs such as steroids used by athletes and other sport personalities. Another major cause of is obesity. Research has shown that obese males are more predisposed to having breast enlargement than any other category of men. Therefore, you better watch your weight, man!
But, what used to be the butt of all jokes in the past is now a fast-rising fad. Amongst individuals called transsexuals (like males who undergo surgical procedures and swallow pills upon pills to develop female breasts), there is an increasing fantasy with the idea of male breast enlargement. Nowadays, various centres and websites offer ‘breast enlargement pills’ to men promising them instant breast sprouting! This concept is a modern one but it is really catching on fast in various parts of the world.
